CAN (+) and CAN(-) can be found on Pins 3-4, respectively. The Baud Rate is 1Mbps. If they are using a
USB to CAN device or integrating on a Private CAN network, static messages can be sent to control the
backlight level. Using this method a range of 0-255 is available. Technically, the monitor only needs to
receive a single, valid CAN frame with each power cycle to maintain the specific brightness level. In
some past cases, teams have chosen to implement their networks with variable step sizes to give the
individual drivers backlight preference for both day and night courses.
