New from Gentex this is the GENFDM3LN Full Display Mirror®. This intelligent rear vision kit consists of a unique display-integrated mirror and custom-designed camera engineered specifically for automotive rear vision.
Do you have issues such as obstructed, limited, or no view out of the back of your vehicle? Passengers in the back seat? No problem! Big boxes in the cargo area blocking the view? No problem! Large pickup with cap on the back? You guessed it, no problem! Cargo vans with no rear windows? This is a perfect solution! With this mirror combined with the camera installed at the rear of the vehicle, you'll get a crystal-clear view of what's behind you, no matter what might be otherwise blocking the view of a standard rearview mirror!
The Gentex GENFDM3LN Full Display Mirror® offers bimodal functionality. In mirror mode, it functions as a standard auto-dimming rearview mirror. But with the flip of the toggle switch, the mirror enters display mode, and a clear, bright, LCD display appears through the mirror’s reflective surface, providing a wide, unobstructed rearward view. While in mirror mode during nighttime driving, the FDM also automatically detects glare from trailing vehicle headlights and darkens to the precise level necessary to eliminate the glare and preserve driver vision. The on-screen menu allows you to adjust the mirror brightness, adjust the camera image up/down, and adjust the color intensity (this comes in handy for vehicles with tinted rear windows).
Kit includes the Full Display Mirror®, Full Display Mirror Camera, three camera mounts (17-30 degrees, 30-55 degrees, 55-90 degrees), 92" mirror wiring harness, 25 feet of coax cable to connect the camera to the mirror, installation hardware & user guide/installation manual.
Mirror also has the *OPTIONAL* capability to display an image from a backup camera - for this, from the drop-down list, you can choose from the optional backup camera interface cable (add your own camera), or select from the camera option, both of which include the interface cable.
