Custom Adapter to the Rescue!
I upgraded to a rearview mirror with homelink and didn't want to use the wire splicers provided. A few simple questions from Bob via email and four days later I had a custom adapter. Bob knew which wires went where for each item, and the exact length - perfect fit that looks factory. I highly recommend Bob's and this will be my first stop for future upgrades. Josh 2/18/25
Framed Mirror with Blue Compass
Bob- Thanks for the email. I looked at your YouTube videos which helped clarify the size of the mirrors. Hadn't been able to get that info anywhere else I looked. After talking to a buddy and kicking around the pros and cons, I decided to go with the framed option. The blue compass matches the dash lighting, and it just looks more like it belongs in my 2016 Tacoma. Thanks for pointing out it would have been that way from the factory. Happy for Homelink!
I leased a brand new Tacoma SR5 lower level trim and the only thing missing was a homelink system. I asked the dealer if they could install a homelink rearview mirror in the vehicle and they said the homelink was not compatible with my model. I went online and found Bob’s Automotive mirrors and found a battery powered homelink mirror so I ordered it. I followed the video to remove the factory mirror but when I did there was a clip holding it in place. So I sent Bob a not hoping he could explain how to complete the swap. Bob send me a photo along with instructions on how to remove it and bingo. I then sent Bob a note asking if any of the wireds systems were compatible with my vehicle and Bob sent back a photo and pricing of every mirror that would work. I ordered an upgraded mirror and it arrived in a couple of days. Installation was not 5 minutes like Bob promised though, it took 10 (which was probably due to my neuropathy and lack of flexibility!!) The new mirror is the same mirror in the top trim levels of the both the Sienna and the RAV4 except Bob’s has the built-in compass! Bottom line, everything worked exactly as Bob showed in his video and his responses to questions were very accurate and very quick. Not Intimidated by Installation!
The mirror is in. It works great. And... It was super easy! I did not have to remove the roof console. There was plenty of room inside the camera cover to stash the excess wiring. I'm glad you talked me into taking it on. Thanks Again! John K 12/10/2024
